M22 Chalenge

Voted the best endurance event in Northern Michigan

The M22 Challenge is a spectacular event organized at the Sleeping Bear Dunes National, Lakeshore. Between the venue being recognized as “The Most Beautiful Place in America,” by ABC News, and the exemplary camaraderie between M22 participants, this event makes for an unforgettable experience.

In its 11 years of existence, the race has grown exponentially, jumping from only 132 competitors in 2009 to the 900 that competed in 2019. In the heart of the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park, a shotgun start kicks off the event on M-109 in Glen Arbor and participants tackle the notorious 100 yard “Dune Climb” that starts the 2.5 mile run.

After the run, athletes hop on their bikes and climb up Inspiration Point and around Big and Little Glen Lake for a 17 miles. The race ends with a 2.5-mile paddle on kayaks or stand-up paddleboards at Little Glen Lake.

Voted the best endurance event in Northern Michigan. A must-attend!
